Preparing Zoom for the Online Aware Leadership Masterclasses

To make sure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience during the online Presence Masterclass sessions, we’ve put together some key information on using Zoom:

1. Zoom App vs. Browser Version

• Zoom App (Recommended): For the best experience, we recommend downloading and installing the Zoom app on your device. The app offers more stable performance and access to all Zoom features, such as breakout rooms, reactions, and screen sharing. You can download the Zoom app here.
• Browser Version: If you cannot install the app, you can still join the session directly through your web browser. Just click the meeting link, and you’ll have the option to join via browser. Please note that some features, like virtual backgrounds, may be limited in the browser version.

2. Preparing Your Setup

• Test Your Connection: Test your Zoom setup before the session to ensure your microphone, camera, and internet connection are working properly. You can do this by joining a test meeting at https://zoom.us/test.
• Use a Stable Internet Connection: For the best experience, use a wired internet connection if possible. If you’re using Wi-Fi, make sure you are close to your router.

3. Joining the Meeting

• Click on the Zoom link provided for each session, and follow the prompts to join. Whether using the app or browser, the process is simple and user-friendly.
• We suggest joining a few minutes early to resolve any technical issues and get settled before the session begins.

4. Online Etiquette

• Keep Your Video On: Please keep your video on during the sessions so we all have a more personal experience. This helps create a sense of presence and connection with other participants.
• Mute When Not Speaking: To minimize background noise, keep your microphone muted when you’re not speaking. Unmute yourself when you wish to contribute.
